CLIENT SERVICES

Under the current management Bishop & Co. has become known as a company that provides professional advice and service to their clients. These services come mainly in the form of Property and Livestock Husbandry and Management. As many of our clients are professional business persons and in some instances they are absentee owners, they do not have the expertise in the management of their properties in which case they rely upon our experience to carry out all livestock operations, which includes the purchasing and marketing of their livestock as well as the full husbandry schedule.

The Northern Rivers of New South Wales and the adjacent New England Tablelands are known as the Nursery for the production of young re-stocker cattle. Literally thousands of young cattle of all descriptions and breeds leave this area annually between the months of February and June. Destinations of thesescattle include Southern and Central Queensland, Western, Central and Southern New South Wales and Victoria. Our company is strategically positioned within this area to provide producers from these regions with a buying service for any type or number of cattle, buying to their specifications to suit their needs.

LIVESTOCK AUCTIONS

Bishop & Co. conducts Cattle sales at the Lismore Saleyards on Tuesdays on a weekly basis. The types of Cattle offered include Veal, Calves, Meatworks type Cattle such as Cows, Bulls, Bullocks & Steers. Store or re-stocker sales are conducted at regular intervals throughout the year depending upon demand for such cattle. As the need arises Bishop & Co. conducts single vendor sales such as, Stud and Commercial Cattle, Stud and Commercial Pig sales, Farm Clearing sales which includes Livestock of all descriptions as well as the Farm Machinery and Household Items.

OTHER AUCTIONS

Bishop & Co. has carried out many other types of auctions. The biggest sale undertaken by Bishop & Co. was of 600 lots sold in one day held in two different sites. This sale was conducted on behalf of Norco Co-Operative Ltd of Lismore. The two sites were there factories in Casino and Lismore were they where selling off their entire vehicle workshop, scrap metal and machinery after revamping their production lines. Another 600 lot auction was conducted on behalf of the New South Wales Department of Agriculture at their Wollongbar Institute site where they offered such items as surplus farm machinery, office equipment and furniture, laboratory equipment and furniture. Both of these auctions took approximately seven and a half hours to conduct. Our Company is one of the few companies who have the expertise and management skills capable of conducting auctions of this scale. These two auctions where tendered for and won against the likes of the big City based Auction Houses.

The organization of such large auctions include cataloguing individual lots and the production of the catalogue, overseeing of the layout of the lots for the best presentation for the auction, an advertising budget and compilation of all advertising and mail out to prospective buyers that may be industry specific. With the conduct of the Auction our company supplies all staff with up to three auctioneers, up to four  clerical staff or as many as is deemed as necessary. Bishop & Co. accounts to our vendors for every lot sold with a computer generated Account sales showing each lot sold as well as all expenses incurred, which normally include commission, advertising and any Government Levies which may apply to the specific industry.
